Options For High School Graduates Other Than The Military

Graduation

Congratulations to all the graduates out there!

One chapter of your life has come to a close and a new one is just beginning.

For those of you who are considering joining the military,

please consider other options before making your final decision.

Many graduates join the military for supposedly free college tuition and health benefits.

However, they may not understand fully what they are getting themselves into.

It is an honorable thing to protect and serve your country,

all I ask is that you know all the facts before joining.

Vets 4 Peace

Veterans for Peace is an organization by veterans who want to expose the true costs of war and especially want potential recruits to know about the truth in recruiting.

Potential recruits,

please click on the link below to find out the truth about joining the military as well as a .pdf link

at the bottom of this link's page to alternative educational and job resources with benefits:

Below is a list of opportunities for grads:

Currently, you have to pay 100 dollars for 12 months for the GI Bill

and the US Army picks up the rest.

Congress is currently considering changes to the GI Bill which would force new enlistees to increase the amount they are paying already for tuition to access their education benefits.

This is a horrible idea.

Help us stop the bill that increases how much soldiers pay for their benefits DOA

in the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs! As the subcommittee holds their initial hearings on revising the GI Bill, they must remember that our soldiers are paying for these benefits with their service to our nation.

It’s unfair and un-American to increase charges to those who are already making great sacrifices to keep our nation safe.

Currently there is a petition to stop congress from forcing new enlistees to increase the amount they are paying to access their education benefits.

What is advertised as "free" tuition really is not.

So basically you are risking life and limb for tuition you have to pay for anyway.

Whatever choices you make, we wish you much happiness and success

but most of all, peace...

Much Love,

Rev. Sue and Rev. David
